Christian Magician Workshop and show

I am organising two events at Penkridge Methodist Church  - the first is for anyone who would like to learn how to perform some magic as a tool for evangelism - no previous knowledge or skill are needed.  Professional Christian Magicians are offering to run a workshop for ministers, lay workers, preachers, evangelists, youth/familiy  workers etc to learn how to incorporate basic tricks and illusions into their talks and sermons to make them truly memorable.  It takes place on Saturday 23rd October at 1.30pm at Penkridge Methodist Church.  There is a cost of £25 but this does include an evening meal, materials to take away after the workshop and an full evening performance.

For further details and booking,  please use this link (tickets must be booked in advance to ensure we have sufficient resources available)
https://www.christianmagiciansuk.org/content.aspx?page_id=22&club_id=838826&module_id=491354

Penkridge Methodist Church are hosting a night of comedy magic with performances from members of the Christian Magicians UK including Mark Harrington and David O’Connor. Mark and David are professional magicians who perform magic with a gospel message.

The show is on Saturday 23rd October 7pm -8.30pm and tickets are free but you must book in advance as numbers are limited and you are invited to leave a donation as a contribution toward Messy Church if you are able to.  Refreshments including ice creams will available in the interval.

FE Chaplaincy Workshops
The Methodist Church are organising two online workshops featuring the WM region's FE Chaplaincy Ambassador Nigel Roberts.  These 45 minute introductions to FE Chaplaincy are an ideal first step for anyone exploring chaplaincy in further education.

Schools and Community Outreach Worker Vacancy - readvertised
Stafford Circuit - Berkswich Methodist Church -
Schools and Community Outreach Worker Opportunity

Berkswich Methodist Church wish to appoint a part time Schools and Community Outreach Worker
*  20hrs per week
*  £11.25 per hour
*  Application deadline 19th November 2021

Berkswich Methodist Church has employed a Schools Worker over the past 12 years and we wish to maintain and build on this work, developing the relationship between the six primary schools with whom we work and the church.

 We are also looking to find new ways of taking church out of the building and into the community so that people may understand what a relationship with God can mean in their lives and come to faith.

The Schools and Community Outreach worker will work in the schools delivering assemblies, lunchtime Bible clubs, celebrating the Christian festivals and being a Christian presence for both staff and pupils. The outreach work in the community looks to find new ways of being church in the community and having soft conversations about faith with those unsure about stepping over the threshold of the church building.

If you would like to have an informal chat about the position do call Jean Harrison, Berkswich lay pastor on 01785 661263 and to request an application form.

Children's Support Fund

The above fund has been available to access for about 18 months now and I would encourage more applicants to support the young and disadvantaged children from our District. As we are now coming out of the pandemic I am sure Churches are looking at what new activities they might be able to run and this fund may be able to help. There is a ceiling of £500 and applications need to made on the attached form and emailed to Tim Lorimer @ lorimertim@yahoo.co.uk.

Some examples of activities we have supported are:

Kingswinford. Purchase of Lego sets for their Full of Spirits Project

St John's Bloxwich.  Support for School meals

Fallings Park, Stationary bags to support prayer spaces for Children

Stafford.  Tablets to help in school work

Beckminster.  Christingle Bags

Aldridge.  Support for their ECO warriors project

Bourne Methodists.  Support for newly formed Dads and Children's Saturday club

Cole Street.. Working with Safer Families Charity providing activities for Children

Should anyone want more details of these projects please send me an email.
