Spiritual Direction Course starter

This course running in Stafford this winter is open to all denominations. Over six Saturdays we will form a learning community aiming to grow in our prayer lives; it’s mostly practical but will include some input from the Christian prayer traditions. It forms the first module of our training in Spiritual Direction (again ecumenical) but also stands on its own for those who want to grow in prayer. C S Lewis Film release at Vue Birmingham

Fourteen UK cinemas are trying out a new feature about C.S. Lewis for one showing only this coming Sunday 7th Nov. at 3pm.

Vue Birmingham is one of these fourteen cinemas.  If it is well attended not only will it hopefully be brought back for further screenings the following weekend but also be shown in considerably more cinemas around the country.

I would be most grateful if you could get word around your congregation and really encourage them to attend.  Details are here:
www.cslewismovie.com
For fliers, posters, trailer and discussion guide click the small black circle near the top left of the on-screen poster.
N.B. The 3rd November date which these posters show is the USA release date - the Vue Birmingham showing is at 3pm on Sun. 7th Nov. only.

Premier's Unbelievable? programme last Saturday was devoted to the film.  Justin Brierley said, "I really loved it - fantastic film.  It was just so good."  You can watch the programme on the Premier website.

I hope your showing goes really well and will open the door not to Narnia but to further showings and to many other UK cinemas as well.

Schools and Community Outreach Worker Vacancy - readvertised
Stafford Circuit - Berkswich Methodist Church -
Schools and Community Outreach Worker Opportunity

Berkswich Methodist Church wish to appoint a part time Schools and Community Outreach Worker
*  20hrs per week
*  £11.25 per hour
*  Application deadline 19th November 2021

Berkswich Methodist Church has employed a Schools Worker over the past 12 years and we wish to maintain and build on this work, developing the relationship between the six primary schools with whom we work and the church.

 We are also looking to find new ways of taking church out of the building and into the community so that people may understand what a relationship with God can mean in their lives and come to faith.

The Schools and Community Outreach worker will work in the schools delivering assemblies, lunchtime Bible clubs, celebrating the Christian festivals and being a Christian presence for both staff and pupils. The outreach work in the community looks to find new ways of being church in the community and having soft conversations about faith with those unsure about stepping over the threshold of the church building.

If you would like to have an informal chat about the position do call Jean Harrison, Berkswich lay pastor on 01785 661263 and to request an application form.

There is a ceiling of £500 and applications need to made on the attached form and emailed to Tim Lorimer @ lorimertim@yahoo.co.uk.

Some examples of activities we have supported are:

Kingswinford. Purchase of Lego sets for their Full of Spirits Project
